Email us at: . Lisa's Story I was diagnosed with UC 32 years ago at age 15. I have been ashamed and embarrsed about it all that time. I have not had a solid bowel movement in 32 years. Mostly I prefer to be home where I can use an upstairs bathroom as needed. I've been taking Pentasa (4 pills with each meal) and Folic Acid (twice a day) for many many years. I've increased the frequency of having a colonoscopy over the years until it's been annually for the last 10 years. This last one (last month) they took 60 samples for biopsy and sent them to a team of Gastroenterologists for review. Some say there is log grade dysplasia, others didn't see that.
