Jeff's Story

First i thank the admin of the website for giving an oppurtunity to share my views with the rest of the world.

Im Jeff { 30} from India. Im a Biotechnologist. Im also a victim of Ulcerative Colitis since three years, after my short term stay in Sweden in deep winter. I have returned India in Mid summer where the temp varies between 40-45degrees. This made more suspicious like a change in geographical area also can lead to this type of disorders. Because mainly the food habits change.

Prior to this, since my childhood i have been contracted with Bronchitis{4yrs of age}, Primary Complex{at age of 10}, observation of Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma/Swelling of Lymph glands {13yrs of age}, Typhoid at {19}. Medication to encounter these was usually with high dosages of antibiotics. Some researchers suspect that due to heavy dump of antibiotics into the body since childhood may adveresly affect the smooth functioning of the immune system.

After rigorous diagnosing and some clinical tests, i have been administered to Mesacol for 8months {2500mg/day}. Some changes in dietary habits have also been recommended and also followed. As Long as i used the drug im on the safe side.

But due to my professional and social conditions i couldnt regulate my diet and also make appropriate observations daily of my internal enemy.

Recently i came to know that intake of plenty of water {6-8lts/day} or even more than that can help in healing some of the damaged tissues and also mucus membranes of the colon. But lets not befool ourselves by taking any carbondioxide based drinks, presuming them tooo be a liquid. Water is water as gifted by mother nature.

Also, complete intake of dairy products should be avoided or reduced. Alcohol and Smoking should be ignored. Spicy foods have no place at all. Fibre rich diets should be considered. Citrus fruits are the best freinds of ulcers. Intake of easy digestible foods are considered.Taking enough rest if possible at regular intervals.

So i feel that some aspects in my mail can help others suffering like me and can provide a solution to encounter the enemy, with more clarity.

I would request and welcome any suggestions as reply.

Regards

Jeff.
